Why Dog Thunder?

Most weather apps alert you right before a storm. Owners of anxious dogs need more time than that – several hours of advance warning. That’s what makes Dog Thunder different. The app forecasts storms many hours in advance, which comes in particularly handy with overnight thunderstorms. You’ll know before bedtime if there’s a risk of overnight storms, so you can assess the weather and have plenty of time to administer medication, prepare gear like a Thundershirt or calming aid, or set up a quiet den for your pup. So you both can have a better night.

About

Juniper, the dog who inspired Dog Thunder.

I'm Bryan, and I built Dog Thunder for my Golden Mountain Dog, Juniper. She gets severe anxiety with thunderstorms. After trying many things, our veterinarian recommended medications, which work well to keep her more calm in a storm. But I need to give her the medication two hours before a storm. This is especially tough at night, if an overnight thunderstorm happened. Poor Junie would barge through the house panting and clawing at doors, waking everyone up and being a big furry sad sack for hours. I wanted a simple evening heads-up when storms were likely, so I could prep her before bedtime with medication to keep her calm. That's why I built Dog Thunder. If it helps your dog too, that's a win.
